Memorial services for Christopher Johnson were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021 at Valliant Church of God.

Christopher Linn Johnson, age 51, of Valliant passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. Christopher was born Oct. 5, 1969 in Hugo, Okla., the son of Floyd Johnson and Freddie (Tidmore) Miller.

Chris was a 1991 graduate of Valliant High School. He was proud to be a Valliant Bulldog and donated six acres to school in 1995 for a new baseball complex. Valliant High School Superintendent Earl Wright presented Chris with a plaque in 1996 during the first baseball game which was played on the Johnson Field, in honor of Chris. His memory will live on for years as generations of young children utilize the field to become great baseball players.

Chris loved attending church and was a member of the Valliant Church of God. He enjoyed peanut butter milkshakes and was a master of dominoes. Chris would always start each morning with his morning juice, “coffee.” He was a huge fan of Elvis, loved the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners. He loved his family more than anything. Chris always looked forward to traveling to Red River, N.M., where he attended a head injury camp. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Johnson and Freddie Miller and sister, Dayna Dianne Miller.

Christopher leaves to cherish in his memory his siblings: Voyen Miller, Jr. of Converse, La., Pamela Huskins of Valliant, Caryn Petree of Gilette, Wyo., Kevin Miller of Colton, Calif., Brent Johnson of Fisher, Texas, Robert Moore of Valliant, and Dave Caper, II of Richmond, Texas; aunts, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many loved family and friends.

Bro. Leon Tims officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
