David Robert Crane (DR) passed away at his home in Soper, Okla., with his wife at his side at the age of 81. He was born on Feb. 18, 1940 in Lake County, Ill.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James Crane and Anita Anderson Crane, and brother, James Crane, III.

David is survived by his loving wife, Leilani L. Crane of 30 years, and his children: Tracy B. (Tim) Jacobsen, Jodi S. (Javier) Raggio, Cory R. (Shellie) Crane, and step-daughter, Melissa M(Hogan) Norvet, and his grandchildren: Courtney J. Crane, Lauren E. Jacobsen, Cole D. Jacobsen, Colt R. Crane, and Olive G. Norvet.

David served in the U.S. Army and ranked reinforcement XI Corporal. He received the Purple Heart Pin, and he also made two lifelong friends, Don Matso and Sunny Whitten.

David’s passions in life were rodeos and cattle management. David was an all-around ranch manager and cowboy who took pride in his work raising cattle. He was also a great mentor to his employees! He also made great friends, one of his closest being Curtis Garmon. He worked with Curtis at Windy Hill Stock Farms for 25 years.

He is now at peace with his parents and brother. He truly enjoyed his kids and grandchildren coming out to the ranch (Crane Cattle Company) and spending time. He will be greatly missed and loved by his family. Private memorial services to be held at a later
