Graveside services for Donald E. Leslie were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla., with Pastor Kyle Cummings officiating. Donald went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, in Hugo, at the age of 90.

Donald E Leslie was born Sept. 2, 1930 in Hugo, to John Leslie and Helen (Dement) Wyatt. Donald was a lifelong resident of Hugo and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo. He married Mattie Belle Wilkins on Nov. 15, 1952 in DeQueen, Ark. As a team, they established Leslie Cattle Company, which was a livestock order buying business that purchased and delivered cattle to surrounding states using their fleet of trucks. He served his country in the United Stated Army in the 45th Infantry Company F during the Korean War. Donald was on the Board of Directors of Citizen’s State Bank of Hugo, which later merged with BancFirst and he was a member of the Hugo Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He was active for many years in the Choctaw County Jr. Livestock Show. Donald loved crappie fishing, his livestock and especially his wife, Mattie who he called “Sugar.” Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mattie Belle Leslie; daughters: Donna Carol Leslie and Sandra Kay McDowra

Donald is survived by his son, Donald Jack Leslie and wife, Lisa of Hugo; grandchildren: Lendy Leslie, Dusti Collum of Hugo, Randa Rucker and husband, James of McKinney, Texas, and Shae Raper and husband, Colby of Hugo; three greatgrandchildren: Bari Rucker, Brinn Rucker and Luka Raper; and his faithful care givers: Crystal Foster, Teresa Holley and Kassin Sumner.
