Funeral services for Dortha Bersuch were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Antlers, Okla., with Pastor Aaron Reed officiating. Dortha passed away Aug. 15, 2020, in Antlers, Okla., at the age of 87.

Dortha Alline Murray was born Feb. 11, 1933 in Antlers, Okla., the daughter of William Bell and Heppie Jewell (Robbins) Murray. She always called Antlers home, while living in Indiana and California during different seasons of life. Dortha married Clair Bersuch on June 30, 1978, in Spencer, Ind., and they returned to Antlers to make their home. She enjoyed working with the Wood Brothers Grocery Stores and Puckett’s as a sales clerk. Dortha was a member of the First Baptist Church in Antlers. She loved to go horseback riding with friends, especially on her paint pony “Susie.” Dortha really enjoyed swimming, camping, canning fresh produce from her personal garden, creating ceramics, tending special flower beds, and raising “pet” cattle. Her geniune smile and care for people will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Clair; parents; six siblings: Earl Murray, Maggie Meadows, Calvin Barber, Kenneth Barber, Evelyn Stivers, Julian Barber.

Dortha is survived by one daughter, Linda McLemore of Antlers; one grandson, Michael Johnson of Antlers; three great-grandchildren: Jessica Abbott of Broken Arrow, Okla., Ashlynn Bayles and husband, Charles of Durant, Okla., and Michaela Johnson of Antlers; three delightful greatgreat-grandchildren: Gannon and Kinsley Abbott, Waylen Bayles.

Services were under the direction of Mt. Olive Funeral Home.
