Duane Allen Sheppard

Duane Allen Sheppard, of Hugo, Okla., passed away June 12, 2025, at the age of 67.

Duane Allen Sheppard was born on Dec. 23, 1957 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Harry and Margret (Winabergar) Sheppard. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; brother, David Sheppard and sister, Pollyanna Sheppard.

Duane married his beloved wife, Rita Callahan, on March 18, 1986 and they lived many places during their life. They settled in Hugo in 2007 to be closer to their families. He worked as a machinist and enjoyed doing the landscaping and maintenance at the trailer park. Duane loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing for bass and catfish and exploring cloudy mountains with his son, Eddie. He was a big Texas Longhorns fan and loved to listen to music on his headphones. Most of all, Duane loved his family and spending time with grandkids and great-grandkids. Duane is survived by his wife, Rita Sheppard of the home; son, Eddie Ball and wife of Soper, Okla.; daughter, Christie and wife of Hugo and Stephanie and husband of Missouri; 13 grandkids; 22 great-grandkids; brothers: Darryl Sheppard of Woodward, Okla., and Dennis Sheppard of Del Rio, Texas; sisters: Donna Vasquez of Woodward and Deanna of Texas, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Arrangements were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
