Gary Candler

Funeral services for Gary Candler, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 at South Central District Building in Hugo. Gary passed away Sept. 8, 2023, at the age of 63.

Gary was the youngest of 16 children of Alonzo and Addie (Nunley) Candler. He had 10 sisters and five brothers.

Surviving relatives include: Casa Candler and a grandson; brothers: Ben Candler, Alonzo Candler and Clenzell Candler; sisters: Cordelia Ann Crain, Sally Eldridge, Wanda Candler, Lorene Smith and Belinda Copeland; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 at Rogan Funeral Home and prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the South Central District Building.

Interment will follow the service at Springhill Cemetery with the Rev. Earl Eason, Jr. officiating, under the direction of Rogan Funeral Home.
