Geneva L. Tucker
Geneva L. Tucker, born on Nov. 1, 1947 in Ft. Cobb, Okla., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 in Paris, Texas, at the age of 77.
Known for her warm smile and thoughtful nature, Geneva dedicated 20 years of her life to caring for others as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Paris, Texas.
Her unwavering faith as a member of the Baptist community and her compassionate spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
She is lovingly remembered by her two sons: Jeffery Patterson of Desoto, Texas, and Jeremy Patterson of Greenville, Texas; her siblings: Pam Godwin, Nita Rosenbaum, both of Paris, Texas, Vernon Godwin of Choctaw, Okla., James Godwin of Arkansas, Gayla Fagan of Bridgeport, Texas, and Michael Godwin of York, Pa.
Geneva was preceded in death by her father, William Atwell Godwin; her mother, Dixie Leona Godwin Miley; her grandparents: Charlie and Elsie Godwin; her daughter, Tammy Wear; her brother, Charlie Godwin; her nephew, Jason Stover; and her siblings: Donna Shepard, Sue Godwin and Michelle Stover. A family gathering will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025 at Geneva’s apartment. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025 at Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo, Okla. Geneva was a beloved mother, sister and friend who brought joy to everyone around her. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
