Funeral services for George Dayton Hammock will be held at 10 a.m. March 7, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hugo.

George Dayton Hammock, 82, of Kissimmee, Fla., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026. George was born in Snowflake, Ariz., the son of John and Laree Hammock. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Judith Hammock, who passed away in 2020; his parents, Dayton and Laree Hammock; his son, Bradley Hammock; two sisters: Dora Diamond and Shirley Roney and three brothers: Darrell, Robert and Denis Hammock.

He moved to Kissimmee in 2018 from Umatilla, Fla. George worked as a dedicated truck driver and was a proud member of the Million Mile Club with Mayflower Trucking Company. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he found purpose and community.

George is survived by his children: Christopher Hammock and his wife of Kissimmee, Michael Dayton Hammock and his wife of Riverton, Wyo., Deborah Jean Stevens and her wife of Billerica, Mass.; his sisters: Donna LeMay and her husband of Canyon City, Colo., and Sandra Hammock of Graham, Okla. George leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy. The family is being cared for locally by Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home, Kissimmee, Fla.

Interment will follow the services at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
