Jack Wayne Chambless, a resident of Park Hill for the past 30 years, died on Jan. 15, 2025. He was born in Hugo, Okla., on June 17, 1943 to Jack and Imogene Chambless.

He enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1966.

While stationed in Germany, he met his wife, Anna Menter. They were married on May 12, 1966, and remained together for over 58 years.

During his life he worked as a lineman for Public Service of Oklahoma and as a construction-site electrician all over the United States. He served as a Little League Baseball coach in Hugo from 1977-1982.

During the mid-1970s, Jack was an aspiring professional bass fisherman and co-owner of the Brushmaster Bait Company –– an artificial lure company that produced spinner baits that were popular with anglers all over the country.

He was also an accomplished artist who specialized in detailed pencil drawings and landscapes. But it was his gift for great story telling that will be missed most by his family. He is survived by his wife, Anna; and his two sons: Jack Chambless of Oakland, Fla., and Scott Chambless of Skiatook, Okla. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Gabriel Chambless of Gunnison, Colo., Samantha and Yance Chambless of Skiatook, Lauren Chambless of Atlanta, Ga., Sadye Chambless of Tulsa and his sister, Terry Dee Wade of Dallas, Texas.
