James Edward Floyd
Funeral services for James Edward Floyd, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. March 13, 2025 at Shoals Cemetery. James passed away March 7, 2025, at the age of 86. James “Ed” Edward Floyd was born on March 16, 1938 in Boswell, Okla., the son of Aaron James Floyd and Ethel Mae (Maxwell) Floyd. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Floyd.
Ed had lived in Houston, Texas, most of his life, but moved to Hugo in 2007. He worked in construction and was a property manager for many years. Ed married his loving wife, Myrtle Renfro, on Sept. 18, 1956 in Carson City, Nev. He joined the United States Army and served his country from 1961 to 1963, when he was honorably discharged. Ed was a cowboy at heart and loved horses and trail riding. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix anything. Ed loved his family and spending time with them. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and loved ones.
Ed is survived by his wife, Myrtle Floyd; sons: William Floyd and his wife of Austin Texas, and John Floyd of Hugo; daughter, Jennifer Love and her husband of Montgomery, Texas; five grandchildren; three cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Services were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
