Janet W. Montgomery
Janet W. Montgomery was born in Curtis, Okla., on Sept. 1, 1936, to John and Eleanor Wilson. She passed from this life on May 24, 2026, in Topeka, Kan.
Jan was the Choctaw County Extension Economist for many years. She then worked Special Assistant in the Division of Agriculture at Oklahoma State University.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roy Montgomery; her parents; brother, Pat Wilson; sisters: Betty Mingirelli, Ruth Ann Malm and Nancy Hanson; grandson, Dustin Jackson and son-in-law, James Ray.
She is survived by her daughters: Kim Needham (Bradley), Christy Fry (Marty) and Dee Ann Jackson (Scott); grandchildren: Benton Ray (Morgan), Kelsey Randall (Randy), Katlyn Baker (Josh), Nate Jackson (Vicky), Morgan Bergert (Nick), Makenzie Echeverry (Jake), and Hunter Ray (Belle); great-grandchildren: Sutton and Bowen Ray, Jazlyn and Trinity Randall, Brayden Baker, Kymberlyn and Lyrica Ludy, Ellie, Henry, and Winnie Jackson, Sam, Logan, Callan and Chandler Bergert, Murphy and Maxine Echeverry; brother, Mike Wilson, many nieces and nephews.
The family will have a remembrance of Jan’s life from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church in Hugo. A family burial will take place at a later date, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
