Jimmie Thomas

Jimmie Thomas (Mrs. Jimmie), 92, of Grant, Okla., passed away peacefully Aug. 6, 2025. Born May 25, 1933 in Gay, Oklahoma., she was the daughter of James and Addie Babb and one of 11 siblings. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, she later earned an Associate’s Degree in early childhood education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. A lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church, she served many roles including Mission President, Sunday School teacher, choir president and service announcer. She retired from Head Start and later worked as a cook at Grant Schools, where she was loved for her home-cooked meals and as a loyal basketball fan.

She enjoyed family time, bingo, casino trips, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas, parents and siblings, she is survived by children: Karen Chapman, Pamela Adamson, Debra Miller, Alicia Thomas, Richard Thomas and Tony Thomas; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.

She will be remembered for her generous spirit, steadfast faith and deep love for others. Arrangements are under the direction of Rogan Funeral Home.
