Joe Daniel Rodriguez

Graveside services for Joe Daniel Rodriguez, of Paris, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 6, 2024 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. Joe passed away Sept. 3, 2024, at the age of 89.

Joe Daniel Rodriguez was born on Jan. 13, 1935 in Hugo, Okla., the son of Daniel Rodriguez and Lela (Morris) Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Elsie Freeman, Hazel Smith and Ramona Sumner; three brothers-in-law and a sister-inlaw.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Choctaw County and was employed at Campbell Soup Company for many years. In his younger years Joe enjoyed coon hunting, camping and riding around on the old country roads where he grew up. He enjoyed playing dominos and was amazed how times had changed and how expensive things had become throughout the years. Joe was a jokester and enjoyed cutting up with his family. He will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his funloving spirit. Joe is survived by his daughter, Connie Allen and husband of Paris, Texas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Rodriguez of Hugo; sisters: Helen Roberts of Hugo, Donna Mickel and husband of Hugo, and Ann Jordan and husband of Hugo, along with a host of family, friends and loved ones. Bro. Johnny Corgill officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
