Funeral services for Johnny Wayne Ishcomer, of Fort Towson, Okla., were held March 28, 2026 at Sobol Baptist Church. Johnny passed away March 24, 2026, at the age of 60.

Johnny Wayne “Tomahawk” Ishcomer was born on Oct. 4, 1965 in Talihina, Okla., the son of Leroy Jackson Ishcomer, Sr. and Ethel Bell (LaFlore) Ishcomer. He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece; brother, Robert Ishcomer and sister, Rita Ishcomer.

Johnny lived in Pushmataha County his entire life and was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation. Growing up as a child, Johnny was an outgoing person. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball, watching football and the OKC Thunder. He also enjoyed listening to heavy metal and old country music. Johnny was a quiet person until he got to know you, then he would joke around with you. In his early years he worked in the logging woods but being a truck driver is what he had his mind set on. He enjoyed traveling across the country and made many friends along the way. He drove big rigs for 30 years for various trucking companies, but mostly for Jimmy Tucker Trucking. When he was home, he would tell stories about his travels. It’s not goodbye but see you on the flip side Tomahawk, 10 -4. Johnny is survived by his brothers: Julius Ishcomer, Neil Ishcomer and Leroy Ishcomer; sisters: Linda Cannon, Lena Priddy, Mary Woody and husband and Sarah Kuykendall; nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, along with many other family members, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Black Jack Cemetery with Soloman Tonihka and Lyndon Crow officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
