Funeral services for Jonathan Edwin David will be held at 10 a.m. July 31, 2021 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Jonathan Edwin David, age 85 of Fort Towson, Okla., passed from this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in DeQueen, Ark., with his granddaughters by his side. Jonathan was born on April

Jonathan was born on April 17, 1936 in Sobol, Okla., to John Virgil David, Sr. and Mary Jaine (Frazier) David. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Virgil (JV) David; sister, Delores David and sons-in-laws.

Jonathan was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and served his Country for four years. He worked for the State of Oklahoma Parks and Recreation based at Raymond Gary Lake in Fort Towson and also at the Broken Bow Lake in Broken Bow, Okla. Jonathan enjoyed being outdoors and after his retirement he enjoyed spending time fishing at Hugo Dam. He loved his family and made sure they stayed on the straight and narrow. Jonathan will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter,

He is survived by his daughter, Jonnie Lynn Newton of DeQueen, Ark.; granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and two more on the way; a special cousin; a niece, along with a host of other family friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home, Hugo.

Interment will follow the service at Spencerville Cemetery with Scott David officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
