Leslie Burton Dawson
Leslie Burton Dawson, lovingly known as Les by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on Aug. 5, 1944 in Klamath Falls, Ore., Les was a man of intelligence, adventure and boundless creativity. He spent his final moments in Hugo, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.
Les was the son of the late Leslie Burton Dawson, Sr. and Emma Louise Dawson. He grew up in the beautiful landscapes of Oregon, establishing a foundation that would influence his love for the outdoors throughout his life. He was a proud graduate of high school and furthered his education with two impactful years at Klamath Tech College.
Family was at the core of Les’s life. He shared a loving marriage with his wife of 20 years, Gerri Dawson of Hugo. His memory is also cherished by his son, Greg Dawson of Meridian, Idaho; his brother, Jerry Dawson of Klamath Falls; and his sister Peggy Bieler and her husband, also of Klamath Falls. Les was predeceased by his little brother, Jimmy Dawson, leaving a space in the family that will be profoundly missed.
He was a guidepost for all who sought wisdom, a companion in times of joy, and a craftsman who left beauty in his wake. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire and that his spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of his loved ones.
