Michael Shane Benjamin

Graveside services for Michael Shane Benjamin, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 10, 2025 at Valliant Cemetery.

Michael passed away Jan. 7, 2025, at the age of 44.

Michael Shane Benjamin was born on Oct. 9, 1980 in Paris, Texas, the son of Michael “Mickey” Benjamin and Pamela Hess.

He was preceded in death by his stepbrother, John Jones.

Shane was a lifelong resident of Choctaw County and was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Shane especially loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a joker and prankster who enjoyed making people laugh. Shane also enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with his friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Shane is survived by his father, Mickey Benjamin and wife of Hugo; mother, Pam Hess and husband of Swink, Okla.; son, Brody Benjamin of Lindsey, Okla.; daughters: Shayna Benjamin and husband of Antlers, Okla., and Natally Benjamin of Lindsey, Okla.; step-son, Broc Erwin of Sobol, Okla.; two grandchildren; brothers: Sean Benjamin of Farris, Okla., and Justin Benjamin of Hugo; sisters: Kristi Benjamin, Tricia Compton and Bekah Langley of Hugo; an uncle, an aunt, a special friend, and a host of nieces, nephews along with numerous other friends, family and loved ones.

Bro. Brad Crosswhite officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
