Phyllis Ann (Foley)
Funeral services for Phyllis Ann (Foley), of Swink, Okla., were held Monday, June 2, 2025 at Valliant Church of God.
Phyllis Ann (Foley) Tims, 68, went to her heavenly home on May 28, 2025, passing at her residence in Swink.
Phyllis was born on March 11, 1957 in Hugo, Okla., the daughter of John William Foley and Laura Cledith (Trammel) Foley. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Loyd Foley; sisters: Ollie Bastible and Cledith Hack; one grandchild; and a daughter-in-law.
Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Choctaw and McCurtain County. She married the love of her life, Leon Tims, on Aug. 14, 1972 in Hugo. They made their home in Swink and built a loving family together.
Phyllis had several jobs throughout the years, working for Valliant Public Schools and Choctaw Memorial Hospital. She and Leon later owned their own business, running the Swink Store until 2004. However, her favorite occupation was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her world, and she was so proud of her boys and grandchildren. Phyllis had a passion for the outdoors that was evident to all who knew her, as she could often be found with her hands in the soil, tending to her flowers, or sitting patiently by her pond with a fishing rod in hand. She also loved collecting knick knacks for her home and garden as well as traveling. Branson was one of her favorite places, she loved the Sights and Sounds Theater where they would tell the different stories of the Bible. Above all else, Phyllis was a woman of faith, and her church family was an extension of her own. She cherished every moment spent in fellowship and service. Those who had the privilege of knowing Phyllis would describe her as loving, faith-filled and spirited. Phyllis is survived by her loving family; husband, Leon Tims; sons: Leon “Peanut” Tims, Jr. and wife and Bryan Tims and wife; six grandchildren; brothers: Bobby Foley and Johnny Foley; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Interment followed the service at Fort Towson Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
