Funeral services for Randall Joe Hardaway will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, in the Prater-Lampton-Mills& Coffey Chapel. Randall Hardaway, known as “Red,” passed away on Feb. 12, 2025, at the age of 64 in Swink, Okla. Born on Valentine’s Day in 1960 in Prineville, Ore., Red’s life was a testament to his interesting character and boundless energy.

Red graduated from high school and went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to the Oklahoma City U.S. Post Office as a mail processing clerk. Red was a man of many passions. He had a remarkable talent for knife crafting, an activity that brought him immense joy and satisfaction. His love for the outdoors was evident in his devotion to fishing and working in the yard. Red also found pleasure in “junking,” always on the lookout for hidden treasures.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jan Byassee of the home; his children: Ryan Hardaway of Marietta, Ga., and Rebecca Hardaway of Alpharetta, Ga.; his stepson, Nolan Byassee of Blue, Okla.; his father, Joe Hardaway, Jr. and wife; and his three step-sisters: Rhonda, Donna and Jackie. Red was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann (Hoskins) Hardaway, and his sister, Sherry Hardaway. Above all, Red’s love for his wife, Jan, was unparalleled, only rivaled by the affection he had for his cherished dogs. Services are under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
