Funeral services for Ray Winton Colgin, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo. Ray Winton Colgin, 92, passed away peacefully on Oct. 3, 2026, at his home in Hugo, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Oct. 24, 1933 in Ozark, Mo., the son of Lee Glenn Colgin and Ruth Edna (Dickinson) Colgin. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry L. Colgin; sister, Helen R. Foster; his first wife of 27 years, Ellen Jane Schulte.

Ray proudly joined the United States Air Force in 1954. He served for 20 years, and this brought him to tour across the world. Newfoundland, Canadian N.W. territories, Okinawa, Turkey and Germany were just a few places his duties took him. Ray specialized in ground radio and satellite communications and was also an electrics technician for eight years. He later retired in 1974 from the military and relocated to Trenton, Ill. There he joined William H. Schulte and Sons trucking and grain business. In 1983, he sold his interest in the trucking business and moved to Fort Worth. There he was employed by General Dynamics as a technical writer for F-16 maintenance manuals. Ray finally officially retired in 1992 and moved to Hugo.

Beyond his professional careers, Ray was a man of many talents and hobbies. He restored old 1964-1966 Mustangs, loved traveling on his Goldwing motorcycle and surfing the web. Above all else, Ray was a loving husband, father and friend to many.

Ray is survived by his loving family; wife of 40 years, Donna Jean Colgin; daughter, Deanna Baker of Hugo; two bonus sons; a grandson; a great-grandson; three brothers-in-law; a special nephew; special friends, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
