Rosella Staggs McClure

Funeral services for Rosella Staggs McClure, of Valliant, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home.

Rosella Staggs McClure, 83, went to her heavenly home on Feb. 3, 2025. She was born on Nov. 1, 1941 in Golden, Okla., to Troy and Marie Ward. Rosella was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Jerry Staggs.

Rosella was the oldest of six girls and spent her entire life in the Valliant area. She married Jerry Staggs in 1955 and had two daughters: Rita Shelton and Julia Bryer. After the passing of her late husband, Jerry Staggs in 2014, Rosella later married her current husband, Jerry Mc-Clure on Nov. 26, 2016. Most people knew Rosella from her nursing career, where she was known as being one of the best nurses around. She also graduated at the top of her nursing class with honors. Besides nursing and traveling, Rosella loved playing games and was very competitive in doing so. In her younger years, she thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, etc.

Rosella leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Jerry McClure of Valliant; daughters and sons-in-law, Rita Shelton of Tupelo, Miss., and Julia Bryer of Millerton; step-children: Joe Setzer, Scott Setzer and Keith Setzer; four grandchildren; five step- grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Lavenia Worley, Christene Hack, Joahn Kitterman, Pat Milner, Paular Savoy and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Valliant.

Interment will follow the service at Moran Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
