Funeral services for Sally Jo Andrews, of Bennington, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 26, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Sally passed away Nov. 22, 2024, at the age of 68.
Sally Jo Andrews was born on May 31, 1956 in Missouri, the daughter of Clifton Wilson and Anna Pearl (Joslin) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Dennis Wilson and Jesse Carl Wilson.
Sally lived around the Bennington area most of her life and was baptized in the Little Ceder Creek. She graduated from Antlers High School, Class of 1974. Sally went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma University then later a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
After college, Sally became a valued member of the Adult Protective Services for the Department of Human Services. She investigated reports of elderly or vulnerable adult mistreatment and intervened to protect the victims. She finished her career as an Adult Protective Services Supervisor over five counties. She loved helping people and was an advocate to many.
Sally married her loving husband, Mike Andrews, on Nov. 21, 2000 in Durant and enjoyed a wonderful life together. In her spare time, she loved reading horror novels and watching horror shows and movies. Sally also enjoyed going to the casino and going to a good garage sale looking for bargains. Sally loved to be involved in her community and served on several boards over the years. Sally truly had a golden heart, not only did she help many people throughout her life, but she also had a love for helping animals. She raised many farm animals that the mothers had abandoned. It was nothing for her to have a box in the kitchen with chicks or ducklings. She had baby goats in her laundry room on several occasions. She even had a pet raccoon named Rowdy when she was younger. But above all else, Sally loved and supported her children and grandchildren, loving to attend anything and everything they were involved in. Her memory will live on in their hearts and she will be greatly missed.
Sally is survived by her husband, Mike Andrews of the home; daughter, Pam Whitten and husband of Paris, Texas; sons: Cody Andrews and fiance of Bennington, Okla., Mitch Andrews and wife of Durant, Okla., Macky Andrews and wife of Bethany, Okla., and Matt Andrews and wife of Bethany; five grandchildren; sisters: Pixie Wilkerson and husband of Wright City, Okla., and Sarah Westbrook and husband of Antlers, Okla., along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends and loved ones.
Interment followed the service at Bennington Cemetery with Terry Williams officiating and Dr.
Sean Boone with the eulogy, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
