Graveside services for Wyatt Williams, of Soper, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson, Okla. Wyatt passed away Feb. 2, 2023, at the age of 61.

Wyatt Mignon Williams was born on Dec. 12, 1961 in Durant, Okla., the son of Lonnie Mignon Williams and Linda (Buck) Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, J.L. Williams.

Wyatt married the love of his life, Susan Sorrels, on Dec. 29, 1984, in Mill Creek, Okla., and they have lived in this area for the last 20 years. Wyatt was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo. He worked more than 20 years as a police officer and security guard for many different cities, counties and companies. Early in his life, Wyatt enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses.

Wyatt and his father loved to work and train horses together. Wyatt was a true family man; his children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wyatt is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Susan Williams; son, Josh Williams and wife, Amanda of Fort Towson, Okla.; sister, Joni Phelps and husband, Michael; grandchildren: Macy, Connor and Capp; nephew, Parker Phelps; niece, Emma Joe Phelps; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.

Services were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
