The 2021 Hugo Rodeo and Homecoming are now in the history books, and by all reports, they were both big successes. Many times we have talked about how people with vision can change and improve the quality of life for generations who follow.

Theodore Roosevelt Jr., who had been shot in the leg and gassed nearly to blindness in World War I, was not going to let World War II go by without his direct involvement. First wave. D-Day. He was 56 and walked with a cane when his Higgins Boat reached Utah Beach on June 6, 1944.

We have heard Christian people say over and over again to vote the Bible concerning our elected officials. I think we are all in agreement that we should vote in like with the scripture, but as Christians, have we overlooked some very important scriptures that would pertain to this question?

One interesting attribute of Americans is their willingness to contribute copious amounts of their time in support of some endeavor that they believe will enhance the quality of life for individual or even broad niches of their fellow man.

We’ve officially concluded the 2021 legislative session and along with it, there have been some big “wins” for the citizens of Oklahoma. Just more than 3,000 bills were filed head of the session, and at the end, more than 550 ended up being signed by the governor into law.

We have finished the regular legislative session for this year. I wanted to report some of the important legislation passed this session.

“Since when have we Americans been expected to bow submissively to authority and speak with awe and reverence to those who represent us? The constitutional theory is that we the people are the sovereigns, the state and federal officials only our agents. We who have the final word can speak softly or angrily. We can seek to challenge and annoy, as we need not stay docile and quiet.”

I can’t remember when I’ve seen so much hustle and bustle in Oklahoma and the Midwest as I’m currently noticing. There’s no doubt that both citizens and business are coming out of a forced hibernation and business shut down as a result of the COVID-19 virus that is on the downturn.

The fallout from a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that declared a tribal reservation was never disestablished in Oklahoma has now led lawmakers to create a new fund to cover millions of dollars in anticipated state legal expenses.
