ANTLERS — An Antlers man, his son, and a friend perished southwest of Antlers Thursday afternoon when their small aircraft crashed and burned at approximately 4:33 p.m. on E. 1960 Rd., just west of the N 4140 intersection three miles southwest of Antlers.

After last weeks filings for declarations of candidacy for county offices, the incumbents will run unopposed. Filings for offices, include: • Choctaw County, Court Clerk: Laura Sumner.

HUGO –– More discussion regarding property located near Cora Lee Roe Park was held during Tuesday’s Hugo city council meeting. The property near the park has been addressed at multiple council meetings and with differences of opinions between a few on the council, a motion was made during the meeting to allow the city’s attorney to investigate further and provide a legal opinion.
