WILBURTON –– The Eastern Oklahoma State College meat judging team was named national champions at the Cargill High Plains contest last week in Friona, Texas. “I am very proud of this team and their hard work this fall,” said Jade Edwards, instructor of meat processing and food science and Eastern meat judging coach.

Sec. Arthur awarded Honorary American FFA Degree

Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur was awarded the Honorary American FFA Degree Friday at the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis. The Honorary American FFA Degree is the highest degree bestowed upon an individual by the National FFA Organization.

Polls open Tuesday for Fort Towson election

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, for the Fort Towson Municipal Election. Fort Towson voters will be voting on whether to approve a “Hotel Tax” of 7.5% on visitors who stay in hotels or campgrounds less than 30 consecutive days, and to elect a Town Trustee to replace a Trustee with an unexpired term.
