Trail of Tears memorial walk coming April 30
TVSHKA HOMMA, Okla. –– The Trail of Tears Memorial Walk will return to Tvshka Homma in 2022. Members of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) and all others wanting to honor and remember those tribal ancestors who made the original Trail of Tears journey in the 1830s are invited to join in.

Stretch of highway dedicated to fallen trooper
HUGO –– On Saturday afternoon, a small crowd gathered on the side of Highway 271 for a ceremony dedicating a portion of the highway to a fallen Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper. The section of the highway runs from the outer limits of Hugo to Grant, and it now bears the name Trooper J.C.
