Over the next several weeks, some registered voters in Oklahoma will receive an Address Confirmation Notice from the State Election Board. The notices are required by state law to confirm whether or not the identified voters still reside at their address on file with their county election board.

Members of the Choctaw County Bar Association will participate in the statewide Ask A Lawyer event on Thursday, May 1, in celebration of Oklahoma’s annual Law Day. During the event, attorney J. Frank Wolf III, who serves as the local Law Day chair, will work in conjunction with the Oklahoma Bar Association Law Day Committee and hundreds of other lawyers across the state to provide free legal advice to Oklahomans.

HUGO –– A special meeting of the Hugo city council was held on April 15 after the swearing-in of the new council members on April 7. A vote of the council, with the absence of former mayor Ernest McCarty, resulted in the appointment of Tina Bunn as mayor and Robbie Ridenour as vice-mayor.
