Funeral services for Louis E. Wheaton, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025 at the South Central District Building in Hugo. Louis passed away Nov. 19, 2025, at the age of 76.

Roy Gene Crippin, of Rattan, Okla., passed away Nov. 17, 2025, at the age of 77. Roy Gene Crippin was born on July 22, 1948 in Soper, Okla., to Edmon Dell Crippin and Virgie Jo (Lewellen) Crippin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Garry Dell Crippin and Dallas Ray Crippin. Roy had lived in Choctaw and Pushmataha County most of his life. After graduating from Soper High School in 1966, Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, spending most of his military career in Germany. He carried the discipline and patriotism from his military service throughout his life and was an active member of the American Legion and NRA.

Betty Jo Lyles, a cherished pillar of the Hugo community, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on April 4, 1931 in Soper, Okla., Betty’s life was a testament to her kind, thoughtful and creative spirit.

Sally Holloway passed away peacefully at her home in San Angelo, Texas, on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025. Born and raised with a spirit of kindness and strength, Sally touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her children: Cindy Petillo and husband, Jeff of San Angelo, Texas, Elizabeth Duncan and husband, Terry of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tod Holloway and wife, Pam of Haughton, La.
