Alternatives to guardianship offered by Oklahoma Human Services

Oklahoma Human Services recently debuted a new website — Guardianship and Alternative Options, to equip Oklahoma families, people with disabilities, and professionals in the caregiving field with essential information about caregiving options that promote independence and self-determination. This site was constructed with support from a Bridging Aging and DD Networks grant awarded through the National Association for Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD). The Oklahoma State Alliance Team, which is comprised of many organizations and individuals from across the state, also officered support for this project.

Operation Christmas Time accepting donations through July 20

Operation Christmas Time in August has officially launched, with efforts underway to collect donations for U.S. troops currently deployed overseas. This year’s drive holds special local significance, as among those serving is Captain Greg Gardner, a native of the Texoma region.

The Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority (CNHSA) Hugo Health Clinic celebrated 50 years of service with a ceremony with associates, health team leadership and Indian Health Services (IHS) leadership. In 1975, the Choctaw Nation acquired the clinic from the IHS and began providing for the healthcare needs of the tribal citizens on the reservation.
