BOSWELL — Eli McIntyre, of Boswell High School, recently received an award from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. McIntyre was one of six scholar athletes chosen as an FCA ALL STAR for the southeast region in which 48 schools are represented.

To celebrate National Beef Burger day on May 28, the Oklahoma Beef Council is launching a promotion on Instagram. They are asking their fans to post a picture of their favorite beef burger using the #Okla- BestBeefBurger. The burgers can be cooked at home or purchased at a local restaurant.

The Hugo Area Chamber of Commerce held its monthly board meeting on Thursday, May 13 at the Chamber office. The board approved the April minutes and financials. The bylaws, policies, procedures and strategic plan were updated and amended. The board set aside funds to promote tourism.
