Memorial services for Mickey Don Wisener, of Grant, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. Mickey passed away June 28, 2023 in Millerton, Okla., at the age of 55.

Funeral Service for Reba Jo Amend, 75 of Poteau, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Cross Community Church in Poteau, with Jim Cook, Cory Thompson and Jason Waymire officiating. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Funeral services for James “Buddy” Anderson, of Valliant, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2023 at Felker Freewill Baptist Church. James “Buddy” Anderson was born Jan. 19, 1928 in Valliant, Okla., the son of Osborne Irwin and Eltie (Farris) Anderson. Buddy was member of the Valliant community his entire life. He passed away peacefully in his home on June 30, 2023, at the age of 95. He is preceded in death by his parents, Osborne and Eltie Anderson; brothers: Robert C. Anderson, Billy Joe Anderson and Kenneth Anderson.

Wesley Ervin (W.E. or Wes) Barfield went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the age of 94. He was born on April 11, 1929 to John Ervin Barfield and Almeida Demontolp Nance Barfield (also known as Taultsie, pronounced “Tolsie”).

Garland Allan Pillars was born to William Jackson and Gladys Minion Smith Pillars on Sept. 24, 1937 in the Antlers, Okla., hospital. He was the third child of four. Garland attended school in the Soper Independent School District. He met the love of his life, Ida “Sue” Knight and they were married in 1955 in Hugo, Okla. They celebrated 67 years of marriage in January 2023. To this union were born five children: Marshall Allan, Terry Len, Cindy Sue, Haskell Lance and Billy Don.

Graveside services for Beverly Kay (Garner) Hilburn, of Messer, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. June 27, 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Messer. Beverly passed away June 23, 2023, at the age of 67. Beverly Kay (Garner) Hilburn was born on Oct. 17, 1955 in Denton, Texas, the daughter of L.D. Garner and Tommye Lou (Frierson) Garner. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Michael Garner and David Garner.
