Graveside services for Johnny were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Wilson Family Cemetery, north of Ringold, Okla., with Randy Watkins officiating. Johnny went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 5, 2021, in Broken Bow, Okla., at the age of 76.

In recent days, prominent members of the media, government, and big business have spread a wildfire of misinformation about a newly passed voting law in Georgia.

We’ve finally reached the final committee deadline of this legislative session. It’s been fast and furious, but April 8 was the deadline to hear House bills that were approved in their chamber in our Senate committees. They sent about 400 bills to our chamber, and we approved just over 300 of them. We’ll now turn our focus on hearing these bills on the Senate floor. We must finish this work by April 22.

Senate Bill 3, which was sponsored in the House by State Representative Justin Humphrey, proposes to give law enforcement officers access to telemedicine so they can seek an online professional assessment of individuals who may be going through a mental health crissis. The bill also supports the transfer of the individual to a mental health care center when appropriate.

Oklahoma Lions Mobile Health Screening, sponsored by Hugo Lions Club, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 3 at Kiamichi Technology Center parking lot. No appointments are needed. Screenings offered include: Glaucoma, visual acuity, cholesterol, blood pressure, index, blood sugar, bone density, lung function, body mass and diabetic retinopathy.

It is going to be a cool week ahead with high temperatures mostly in the mid- to upper-60s and dropping into the upper-40s at night. Showers are going to be pesky.
