Healthy Hearts in the Park, hosted by Red River Hoops, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 at the Elephant Trail, 711 Kirk St. in Hugo. The main events include: Bicycle obstacle course, jump rope for heart, dance your cares away marathon, musical hearts, bean bag toss, ring toss, hoola hoops, etc.

From OKC Black Chronicle OKLAHOMA CITY – There is a bill making its way through the Oklahoma State Capitol that would change Oklahoma’s 2019 Open Carry Laws. The author of a new bill says changes are needed in the Oklahoma Self Defense Act to help law enforcement implement gun safety.

Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe and suffers from a high poverty rate with wide spread corruption.

Winona Butcher-Taber

Celebration of life for Winona Butcher- Taber was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at the Assembly of God Church in Hugo, Okla., with Pastor Keithen Brown officiating. Burial followed at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. Winona went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022 in Hugo, at the age of 89.
