REAL ID compliance increases as federal deadline nears

With less than a month remaining until the May 7, 2025 federal REAL ID deadline, Service Oklahoma has issued more than 2.1 million REAL ID-compliant credentials statewide. A REAL ID is not required to drive or for in-state identification but may be needed to board domestic flights or enter certain federal buildings starting May 7.

Emma Sue (Martin) Green, 86, of Hugo, Okla., departed this life on April 12, 2025, to be with her Lord Jesus. Emma Sue was born Sept. 16, 1938 in Bluff City, Ark. She was the youngest of 10 children of Curlin Monroe and Lula Dee (Franks) Martin. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waldo, Ark., for many years. After moving from Waldo to Hugo in 2006, she joined First Baptist Church of Hugo.

Mary Frances (Maynard) Horton, 81, was born on Jan. 9, 1944 in Frogville, Okla., the daughter of Wiley “Earl” Maynard and Ila “Faye” (Lightfoot) Maynard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Horton; her brother, Tommy Wayne Maynard; and her sister, Earlene Meager.

Wilma Jean Rose passed away on April 8, 2025, in Savoy, Texas. Wilma Jean was born Nov. 28, 1949 in Hereford, Texas, to Wilma Jones and Claude Rose. She is survived by her two sons: William “Billy” Strobl and Eric Strobl, both of whom are from Denison, Texas. Also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Wilma Jean is preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Jones; her father, Claude Rose and her brother, C.J. Rose.
