The Raymond Gary Lake Association (RGLA) hosted its third annual Pumpkin Patch Day on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, on the lawn of the Historic Wilson House in Fort Towson — and what a fantastic day it was!

WILBURTON –– The Eastern Oklahoma State College meat judging team earned top honors at the Beef Empire Days contest, held at Tyson Fresh Meats in Holcomb, Kan., and Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan. Eastern claimed the first place overall team award to begin the fall season on a strong note.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) have issued conflicting statements regarding the enforcement of hunting and fishing regulations on tribal lands.

Heather Linn-Schutt, 46, of Antlers, and her daughter, Emma Marie Linn, 22, also of Antlers, were involved in a physical altercation in the northbound lane of State Highway 2 at approximately 10:13 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.

Way to go Hugo Cheer for being named State Academic Champions for the second year in a row and also placing Runner-Up during the State Championship small co-ed competitive cheer competition for the first time in school history. HUGO –– A special election will be held to determine who will fill the open At-Large position on the Hugo City Council. Four names were suggested during last Tuesday’s meeting in hopes of filling the position –– John Wyrick, Chris Cannon, Tim Lemmons and Katrina Bills –– but an agreement couldn’t be reached.
