The Choctaw Nation Department of Public Health (CNPH) is monitoring the ongoing hantavirus outbreak affecting passengers aboard an international cruise ship. At this time, the risk of hantavirus in the Choctaw Nation remains low. CNPH will continue monitoring the situation to help ensure the risk to public health remains minimal.

Leadership Oklahoma, the state’s premier organization dedicated to cultivating, connecting, and inspiring leaders to shape a better Oklahoma, proudly announces the graduation of Class 38. This distinguished class of 47 leaders, representing diverse industries and communities across the state, has successfully completed an intensive nine-month program designed to deepen their understanding of Oklahoma’s most pressing challenges and opportunities.

A student-led event raised $10,000 to support disease research at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Each year, about 50 students from high schools throughout Oklahoma participate in OMRF’s Teen Leaders program. The group meets monthly at OMRF to learn about philanthropic leadership, OMRF and biomedical research. For their capstone project, students typically design a fundraiser for studies in OMRF’s labs.

Riding a wave of dominant wins in the last half of their spring baseball season, the Rattan Rams went into the 2026 State Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Rams lived up to their billing by posting commanding wins over Union City, (112) and Waukomis, (10-0) before manhandling the Canute Trojans 5-1 in the finals for the State Championship.
