New priest at Immaculate Conception Church

Body
Seventeen years ago, a high school student who was quietly discerning a call to the priesthood was invited to Hugo and spent the next few days at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, meeting the Glenmary mission priests in the area. He told his friends then that if he became a priest, he would like to return to the southeastern Oklahoma area one day to serve, God-willing.

Schooling in Hugo during the pandemic

Body
As my family and I sat in the stands at last Friday’s football scrimmage, I saw the results of a great deal of hard work play out on the field. The Buffaloes looked great! Touring the schools during our first week back after such a long time, I saw more results of even more hard work by our teachers, staff and administrators. I wish our classrooms were publically showcased so everyone could see what I saw. The Buffaloes looked great!

Hospital encourages community members to wear masks

Body
PARIS, Texas –– Paris Regional Medical Center is encouraging community members to keep up their diligence in wearing face masks or cloth face coverings in public areas where social distancing is not easily achieved in an effort to continue to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This aligns with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the state of Texas as being an effective way to prevent the spread of the illness. The hospital has already instituted a universal masking protocol within its facilities several months ago and requires anyone entering to wear a face mask at all times.
