WILBURTON –– The Eastern Oklahoma State College meat judging team was named national champions at the Cargill High Plains contest last week in Friona, Texas. “I am very proud of this team and their hard work this fall,” said Jade Edwards, instructor of meat processing and food science and Eastern meat judging coach.

Fall Concert (Black and Gold VIP) will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at Simon Parker Gymnasium ($5 for adults/$2 for students). Hugo and Choctaw County have been blessed down through the years with men and women who worked unselfishly to improve the quality of life for all residents. Those goals were mirrored by Chambers of Commerce, city and county industrial authorities and municipalities.

Bobby Yandell, of Hugo, was this week’s winner of the Hugo News Football Contest after choosing 15 out of 18 games correctly. Yandell guessed closest (467) to the OU Sooners’ total yardage (492) to edge out J.J. Johnson.
