Midnight scrimmage gets Buffaloes’ 2023 season underway

was alive with activity last Thursday night as Hugo kicked off the preseason with a few Buffalo traditions. The evening started with the annual pie auction fundraiser where fans and family members can pay for the chance to smack their favorite player or cheerleader in the face with a pie tin full of whipped cream. The event went on for nearly an hour and a half, with next to no one coming away unscathed.

Football season is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to start marking your calendars with preseason events. Thursday, August 10 Annual Pie Auction: The Buffaloes will hold their annual pie auction fundraiser at Gene Nesbit Stadium at 7 p.m.

Former Lady Buffalo team leader returns to head coaching position

Hugo News Sports HUGO — Hugo softball is in good hands, with Buffalo alum Heather Bunn taking over as head coach and immediately getting to work to revamp the once-strong program. Bunn, who was the first ever All-State softball player from Hugo, played college softball at three different programs in four years, collecting numerous NJCAA awards and playing in the NAIA Softball World Series for Louisiana State University at Alexandria.
