Red River Leadership Institute is hosting a free two-day intensive leadership development program June 24-25 at the Paris Conference and Event Center by Hilton, 3143 NE Loop 286 in Paris. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the training from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Included will be a training manual, lunch both days and materials. This training will assist in building community in the workplace, helping people through change, fostering a high-performance culture and service excellence through the team concept. Choctaw Code Talkers sculpture unveiled

A new sculpture honoring the World War I Choctaw Code Talkers was unveiled recently at the Choctaw Cultural Center. The bronze sculpture, Chahta Anumpa i Tvshka Hoke (Warriors of the Choctaw Language) depicts the heralded soldiers who used the Choctaw language to help end the war.

1 Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior. His father was Gilead; his mother was a prostitute. 2 Gilead’s wife also bore him sons, and when they were grown up, they drove Jephthah away. “You are not going to get any inheritance in our family,” they said, “because you are the son of another woman.” 3 So Jephthah fled from his brothers and settled in the land of Tob, where a gang of scoundrels gathered around him and followed him.

Towns for the Levites 1 Now the family heads of the Levites approached Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the other tribal families of Israel 2 at Shiloh in Canaan and said to them, “The Lord commanded through Moses that you give us towns to live in, with pasturelands for our livestock.” 3 So, as the Lord had commanded, the Israelites gave the Levites the following towns and pasturelands out of their own inheritance: 4 The first lot came out for the Kohathites, according to their clans. The Levites who were descendants of Aaron the priest were allotted thirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin. 5 The rest of Kohath’s descendants were allotted ten towns from the clans of the tribes of Ephraim, Dan and half of Manasseh.
