Freeman sentenced for meth distribution

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Karen Sue Freeman, age 64, of Grant, Okla., was sentenced to 60 months in prison for one count of distribution of methamphetamine.

McAnally sentenced for possessing child sexual exploitation material

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Steven Mark McAnally, age 65, of Hugo, was sentenced to 63 months in prison for one count of possessing certain material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. He will serve five years of supervised probation upon release from incarceration.

Hugo Council terminates city manager

HUGO — The newly seated Hugo city council, now led by recently-elected Mayor Tina Bunn, voted 4-1 to terminate the employment of current Hugo City Manager Leah Thomas during a special council meeting Friday. After a brief executive session, council members returned to open public session and a motion was made by Robbie Ridenour, seconded by Charles Elswick, to terminate the employment of City Manager Leah Thomas.
Hugo Chief of Police John Mitchell was appointed as Acting City Manager during a special meeting of the Hugo city council. Mitchell will also continue in his current capacity with the police department. Hugo News / Stan Stamper

New CDL testing enhancements improve efficiency, readiness for commercial drivers

Service Oklahoma has launched CDL Modernized Skills Test statewide, providing a more streamlined, transparent and efficient process for Commercial Driver License (CDL) applicants. This modernization ensures that Oklahoma’s commercial drivers are better prepared, helping to reduce drive test hurdles, support workforce development and keep goods moving across the state.
