Five young ladies will vie for the crown during the Hugo Buffaloes’ Homecoming celebration Friday at Gene Nesbit Stadium. They include (l to r): Libby Park, Gracie Armstrong, Averie Mitchell, Alivia Holiday and Halle Thomas. The coronation ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday before the 7 p.m. kickoff. A parade will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, as well as a pep rally and bonfire at 7.

Hugo to hold Homecoming Friday

• Libby Lu Park is the 17-year old daughter of Terry Park and Debbie Park of Hugo. Libby has been a member of weightlifting for one year, FFA for two years, Internship for two years, and a certified Lifeguard for one year. After graduation, Libby plans to attend Clary Sage College in Tulsa, Okla., where she will pursue her dream career in Esthetics.

Doaksville Candlelight Tour to focus on Fort Towson’s first 10 years

The annual Doaksville Candlelight Tour will be held on Oct. 11-12 at the Doaksville Archaeological Site. Tour will happen every 30 minutes from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the establishment of Fort Towson, scenes from this year’s tour will focus on the first 10 years of the fort.
