The Hugo Buffaloes are gearing up for baseball season, and there are plenty of ways fans and boosters can help support the program. Hugo will be selling the parking spaces along the fence on the third baseline this season for $100 each to help fund program expenses, such as meals and travel.

Attendees will have the opportunity to share ideas, needs and concerns with their state lawmakers, visit with organizations and state agencies to learn about services for older Oklahomans, and learn about current legislation that may affect older Oklahomans.

A series of findings from the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation could someday lead to extending the female reproductive period. Menopause officially signals the end of female fertility, but for most women, ovaries begin their downswing around age 35 –– years before their menstrual cycle ends.

Early voting begins this week for local school board election

Early voting is available Thursday, Feb. 8, and Friday, Feb. 9, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the County Election Board, located at 300 E. Duke St., on the ground floor of the County Courthouse across from the Sheriff’s Office. Early voting is not available at polling locations.

My name is Michele Frazier. I am the fourth of my parents’ five children, and I grew up in the little country community of Union Grove right outside of Haworth. Growing up in Union Grove was where I learned firsthand the importance of being civic-minded and helping others. My parents and the other adults in this small, tight-knit community modeled what it meant to be neighbors helping neighbors.
