Youth Forestry program now at the Fort Towson Historic Site

FORT TOWSON –– Young people can learn about the natural world around us with a forestry program presented by Oklahoma Forestry Services Education Coordinator Tony Pascall (pictured). The program will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 15. It will include hands-on activities that teach about what the forest is, its role and how people can better interact and care for a forest.

Hugo man injured after Sunday accident

CHOCTAW COUNTY –– A Hugo man was injured in a onevehicle accident Sunday afternoon. According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, James Diggs, 63, was traveling eastbound on E2090 Rd.

June was Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, a time to encourage national conversation about brain health and raise awareness to improve health care outcomes. Over six million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Of that number, 67,000 are Oklahomans. Anyone who is impacted by Alzheimer’s understands the gravity of this disease and the hardship endured by both the individual and the loved ones surrounding them.
