New report explores benefits of co-location of solar ag land

As demand for clean energy increases, many state and local governments are prudently discussing the impact future solar development will have on agricultural lands. Because largescale solar requires considerable land use, a new report from the Center for Rural Affairs (produced for NCAT’s AgriSolar Clearinghouse) aims to provide decisionmakers and others an overview of policy approaches they can take to combine solar with agriculture –– a practice known as agrisolar or agrivoltaics.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced that last week’s declaration of emergency for eastern Oklahoma in the aftermath of the June 17 storms has now triggered activation of the Emergency Price Stabilization Act. After the declaration was delayed for so many days, Drummond is also calling for reform of certain emergency response procedures.

Rattan resident sentenced for assault with a dangerous weapon

MUSKOGEE –– The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Marci Ann Weedon, age 46, of Rattan, Okla., was sentenced to 30 months in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm in Indian Country.

Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass excellent on crankbaits, crawfish, jigs, topwater lures, and tube jigs around brush structure, creek channels, river channel, rocks, shorelines, and weed beds. Bluegill, green, and redear sunfish good on crickets, in-line spinnerbaits, and worms around brush structure, rocks, shorelines, and weed beds. Channel catfish good on cut bait, dough bait, punch bait, stinkbait, and worms around brush structure, creek channels, river channel, and rocks. The OU Board of Regents approved adjustments to multiple coaches’ salaries during its meeting last week. Roger Kish, who was hired as OU’s head wrestling coach on May 2, and Matthew Mott, who was hired as OU’s head women’s soccer coach on April 30, received base salaries of $220,000 and $240,000, respectively, through 2028.
