Over the next several weeks, 326,603 registered voters in Oklahoma, and around one thousand voters in Choctaw County will receive an Address Confirmation Notice from the State Election Board. The notices are required by state law.

Frisco Depot Museum acquires two new volunteers

Museum Director The Frisco Depot Museum in March welcomed two new volunteers, Michelina Barcheri and Susan Ware. Ms. Ware is cleaning and rearranging the military room and Miss Barcheri is taking care of visitors and cleaning the front area. Thank you both so much for volunteering. We need a volunteer for the Harvey House Restaurant, the two bedrooms upstairs, and the school room. For more information, call the depot.

Lucile Morehouse, 12, is an active 4-H member in Choctaw County, Okla. She is the current president for her local 4-H club, shows animals and participates in martial arts. She just received the Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development 2023 Enhancement Grant for her application called “Bee Box.”

Farm driving permit signed into law

Rep. Carl Newton, R-Cherokee, this week thanked the governor for signing into law a bill that will allow teens as young as 14 years old who live or work on a family farm to be eligible for a driving permit to go directly to or from home, work or school.
