As we are in transition with swimsuits mixed with sweaters, hot dogs or soup decision. In between Halloween and Christmas. Both hold their own merit. Halloween with costumes and trickor- treat and candy or Christmas with holly jolly music playing all the time on radios or in the stores and candy canes.

Oklahomans in need can receive complimentary vision exams on ‘Giving Sight’ day Oct. 1

Participating optometric physicians across the state of Oklahoma will be giving complimentary eye exams to those in need as part of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physician’s (OAOP) third annual Giving Sight Day. Most participating locations will hold complimentary vision clinics on Saturday, Oct. 1, but some locations will participate in the days immediately preceding or following that date. Some clinics require appointments, while others are first come, first serve. Community invited to Cinnamon Roll Social at Fort Towson Historic Site

FORT TOWSON –– Fort Towson Historic Site will host a Cinnamon Roll Social on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. Guests are invited to enjoy delicious Dutch oven cinnamon rolls and visit with friends while learning about the nearly 200-year-old historic site. The event is free and open to the public.

Five seniors at Hugo High School are candidates for this year’s Football Homecoming Queen crown. The Coronation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday before the Buffaloes kickoff against the Wilburton Diggers.
