SOPER — Soper’s Lady Red Bears battled the Fort Towson Lady Tigers to a 41-all tie last week before claiming the win with a 7-3 overtime advantage. Both teams came out blazing in the opening quarter and battled to a 14-12 tally with the Lady Tigers in the lead.

Monday was a learning experience for the Hugo freshmen basketball teams, who both fell to Broken Bow. Coaches Chris Scott and Demontre Akins have a similar outlook on the freshmen teams, which is that they’re all about learning the game and understanding what it takes to play at the high school level.

OKLAHOMA CITY –– The Oklahoma State Department of Health held a media briefing Dec. 9, to provide updates on the state’s response to COVID-19.

Oklahomans ages 16-17 can now get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine booster following yesterday’s announcement by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that emergency use authorization has been expanded to include this age group.

The Oklahoma Pork Council and the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association released the following joint response to a baseless refiled complaint by the Plant Based Foods Association regarding Oklahoma’s meat labeling requirements.
