Hugo Elementary School announces it has received a $3,690 Classroom Enhancement grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation administered by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. The grant will be used to assist in funding our music program with a Soprano Glockenspiel, Alto Glockenspiel, several variations of xylophones, and two different metallophones, which will allow Hugo Elementary School to provide educational opportunities that will expand its students’ horizons.

Choctaw County Coalition is hosting a free COVID-19 antibody testing from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the Hugo Agriplex parking lot. It includes antibody testing, COVID vaccinations and boosters and community resources.

After starting the week with freezing temperatures at night, we are going to have a big warm up as the week progresses. I am expecting 76 degrees on Thursday and 81 on Friday, but then another cold front will knock the temperatures down for the weekend with high temperatures only expected to be in the 50s. Precipitation is going to be hard to come by with only one chance during the next seven days.
